Or to give him his full moniker - Robert Alexander Baron Schutzmann von Schutzmansdorff - you are right though, he is a top bloke and would be making appearances on TV again if I was in charge.

The US Shed shows are a bit tool heavy for me and those massive project, well no one else is likely to be able to do one are they ? The trouble is that normal producers can't get away from the idea that you have to have an artificial cliff-hanger before each add break. I'd much rather watch something I can try myself, after all isn't that what most of the DIY shows promise ?Phil Parkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15673614093646938053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20340207.post-35609315767925864582010-05-23T16:54:16.677+00:002010-05-23T16:54:16.677+00:00Evan - Interesting plan with the gallery. I was part of the installation "Demo Station No 4" by Rirkrit Tiravanija at the Ikon Gallery in Birmingham a few years ago with the Hellingly Hospital Railway. (http://www.ikon-gallery.co.uk/programme/past/event/124/demo_station_no_4/) and loaning the layout for 3 months to the gallery while doing a couple of demos each month was interesting. The feedback was good too with lots of interest from people visiting. Hope your goes well.Phil Parkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15673614093646938053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20340207.post-3738859777520688352010-05-23T09:32:29.483+00:002010-05-23T09:32:29.483+00:00I'll vote for that. A few years ago Discovery channel on Sky ran lots of shed based programmes but as they were American, the shed boys had every conceivable bit of kit imagenable. On one a guy built a whole house including the kitchen and then a small sailboat. This is where I came across Mark Found whose manner can be a bit irritating but he is an enthusiast. Seem to remember a giant model of a Superfortress that took 6 people to fly it. Also had the estimable Mr.Soames with his garden layout and many others.chicofrankhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08065691161947421265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20340207.post-9926011536981554262010-05-23T07:04:04.200+00:002010-05-23T07:04:04.200+00:00Fantastic post!Fantastic post!Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15262907669256531193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20340207.post-87508296431230057562010-05-23T04:33:42.578+00:002010-05-23T04:33:42.578+00:00A very well written and compelling post, sir.

I have a local contemporary arts gallery director that likes my work and is very keen for it to be displayed.

Granted it is not TV, but from there I can hopefully get some publicity on a local breakfast show or something.

What with all the other so-called art that's publicised, I see no reason for models and model railways to be excluded.

The modelling would have to be of a high standard and have atmosphere otherwise it won't be taken seriously of course.Evanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06893098957045258815noreply@blogger.com
