Because the new chimney to be fitted to the Porter has a fat spark arrest er, the bell has to be relocated to the side of the saddle tank. The kit supplies a small etched bracket for this which is superglued in place. This isn't ideal but the metal (mazak ?) tank won't accept solder. The glue joint seems pretty strong though.
A new set of handrail stanchions are included. On one side they simply replace the existing ones. On the other side a pair of holes are drilled. I marked these with an odd-leg caliper to make sure they matched the originals and we level. The metal drills reasonably well with a small drill and pin-vice although I managed to break one drill in it.
