Tramcar Clearout update
A couple of months ago, I mentioned that my Dad was clearing out his diecast tramcar collection. The plan was to drop them off with a local auction house for their next toy sale.
We did this but after a week, the estimate worked out at around £3 per tram. Now, while we hadn't expected a fortune, this seemed very low for boxed models. It could have been that this was a "come and buy me" valuation that would have been blasted out of the water by excitable bidders at the sale but we didn't fancy taking the risk.
So, the models were collected and now occupy space we'd like to get back. This means it's time to start looking at other options.
We'll start by digging through model railway mags and ringing those firms looking to buy diecasts.
In the meantime, a few models will find themselves on eBay. It's a pain packing them up but worth the effort, especially as my Beetle is buried under "useful size" cardboard boxes in the garage so we can clear these as well.
Check out my eBay sales here. Bid high, bid often. And tell your friends!
