RMweb members day 2017

Pistachio and veg cake

Pistachio and courgette cake. That was my reward for a 2 1/2 hour drive starting at 6:50 am.

It's a good job it was a particularly delicious pistachio and courgette cake, or I might have been grumpy.

I'd been cajoled into taking a trip down south for the annual small-scale friendly day out for some of the members of a popular web forum. It's a village hall sized event, but one of the best such shows you'll find.

The car had been loaded with The Melbridge Box Company, Melbridge Parva and a couple of dioramas, plus the wagon in every scale display.

Others had brought along their small layouts, including one of the best O gauge models I've ever seen - Sherton Abbas. A real gem of a layout, seen for the first time and sure to be a hit on the exhibition circuit.

The day wasn't about layouts, nor buying stuff from the trade (I did, more on this another day) but meeting old friends and making new ones. There was lots of chatting, plenty of cake and top notch pasties.

For the rest of the photos, head over to Flickr. Sadly, layout and food shots alone can't sum up the fun of this event. Maybe less than a hundred people turned up (there's not count or tickets on the door) but that's part of the appeal.
