Saturday Film Club: Making slot cars



Interesting film on making slot cars. A lot of the processes are the same as used to make model railways - including the one that looks a lot like silk screen printing, because it IS silk screen printing!

Oh, and although the commentary says "Scalextric" but the boxes sat Carrera.

  1. I wonder how many hours you'd have to work there before you could afford to buy a Scalextric Set. Really brings home the economic reality behind the manufacture of our toys and models.

    At least they are wearing masks, though I'd want something with a lot more protection if I was spray-painting all day.

      For better or worse China is the world's factory now Colin. IMHO humanity and big business is at a tipping point, having such a huge impact on the environment and other species under our custodianship.
