Saturday Film Club: Düsseldorf Flughafen SkyTrain
I want to go to Düsseldorf and have a go on this. That is all. I mean I'd like to go by train because I don't like flying, but apart from that...
There used to be an earlier version at Wurperrtal-The Wuppertaler Schwebebahn (Wuppertal Suspension Railway) is a suspension railway in Wuppertal, Germany. Its full name is Anlage einer elektrischen Hochbahn (Schwebebahn), System Eugen Langen ("Electric Elevated Railway (Suspension Railway) Installation, Eugen Langen System"). There was a scene shot on it in the film Fahrenheit 451.
I've only been to Dusseldorf airport once, to catch a connecting flight. We landed late and I don't think I was inside the terminal for more than five minutes before being on the next plane. Needless to say I didn't get to see this.
Better to go to Wuppertal

ReplyDeleteAnnoyingly for tourists, it doesn't run at weekends...

ReplyDeleteNeil - The Wuperrtal is on my list. Not this year though as I understand there is a problem with the "new" stock and it's not running.
