Today it seems appropriate to show a couple of Airfix soldiers I painted this week. Unlike railway modellers, military figure fans seem to delight in models of figures frozen in action. Maybe they have better "play value" that way?
While I appreciate that man throwing grenade is exciting, has this along with the comics full of phrases like "For you Fritz, the war is over" given us a gun-ho attitude that perhaps needs winding in a bit?

I can't but agree more with your sentiment (speaking as an expat dual-national Leftpondian)
Military modelling tends to focus much more on a diorama scene, hence the poses.
Some military figures will generally have multiple arms, etc to allow for different poses.
