Set up for some recent filming, I couldn't resist a photo of my collection of LNER "Toby's" in 2, 3, 4 and 7mm scales.
From the front - whitemetal, etched brass, resin, etched brass. Sadly, I now can't remember the kit makers apart from the O gauge model - Connoisseur Kits. The main lesson to take from this, I think, is that you can't really beat an etched brass kit for crisp modelling!

They look fantastic. We have one of the modelrail RTR ones. It is one of the best running RTR models we have.

The 3mm one is a reduced Conisour kit sold then by Finney and Smith

No. It's resin. But I do have a couple of D&S kits in the pile...
Sorry - I'd better scrub my previous suggestion - you said "resin" - which suggests Silver Fox or similar.

I quite like etched brass now that I am getting the hang of soldering (practice makes perfect - well sort of) Just working through a Hurst Models snow plough - yes there are now ready to play versions but it was bought a long time back. Have also a couple of the excellent Dave Bradwell 56ton Consett iron ore hoppers recently started. Yes and someone just decided to produce a ready to play model as well! Then there is the long ago purchased D&S kit of 30T Cowan Sheldon crane to do - oh yes that's being produced ready to play.
Some may say why bother when they are available ready to play, well I like making thinks, all sorts of thinks and it gives me satisfaction at the end as it does for you.
It also comes to mind that I started scratch building a Diesel Brake Tender (couldn't get hold of the ABS kit) and half way though out pops another ready to play version. Well mines better if I say so.
There seems to be a theme running through this - better start the K's Turbomotive!!!!!

I think the 4mm resin is produced by Silver Fox Models and is available both as a kit or ready built by them. I had one before the Rapido/Model Rail version was released and a quick Google shows they are still available.
