One handy thing with small boats is that you don't need to fill the batch for the initial testing - a wash basin will do. As well as being quicker to fill, there is less waste of water afterwards - I suppose you could do the test before having a bath but you'd better remember to leave out the bubble bath unless your hull is to be very sweet smelling. It would attract some comments at the waterside too...Anyway the van floats. OK the stern is a bit low thanks to the weight of the engine. Hopefully a battery pack at the front will fix this as will adding the big hollow box for the captain to stand on and steer at the back. It's difficult to work out the correct waterline as the prototype spent most of its time sinking...
Some water trickled in. I think this is from the engine hatch and will chuck more glue in here. but generally things are looking good. The model stayed mostly above the surface which is all I can ask at this stage.
