Making pit props

The first lesson to learn when making 4mm scale pit props is that a wagon can hold an awful lot of them.

The second is that the Chopper II tool was worth every penny.

Let's guess:

The third lesson is that you can get quite a few of the things from a box of wooden toothpicks or bamboo / beech skewers.

The fourth lesson is that you don't get the things from your local supermarket. Instead, you go to a catering supplier, where you can get the big packs.

While you're there, you also have a look round at some of the other "consumables" they sell, a number of which might also have modelmaking uses - and don't forget to pick up a catalogue before you leave.

OK - these are personal opinions, which some people won't agree with. However, some of these places sell some things which a number of modelmakers might find useful.
