Märklin Christmas Wagon

Did I mention I travelled to Switzerland earlier this year? Of course I did. I also talked about the model shops I visited while there, and how I had to buy something from each one. Well, this came from Interlaken. It's a 44224 Märklin Start up – Christmas Car

For just over 20 quid, I got a wagon which holds a clever box of electronics and cardboard Father Christmas. This seemed like a bit of a bargain to me.

Being Märklin, the model is designed to run on stud contact track, so the wheels aren't inslated from each other. I'll have to replace them for normal OO, and something will have to be done about the couplings too.

So what does the box of tricks inside do? Well, there are two buttons. One plays a message from a sinister Santa. The other allows you to record your own sound. All good fun!

I'd file that one under 'must try harder'. The colour and design are awful and the sound function is pretty naff. I'll stick with Hornby thanks.
Still, I understand why you bought it.
