Burtons scenics?
Pete asks: I found this label in a fold over label in a box of scenic items, no idea what its from and no idea of the address in Brum. Its from the mid to late 70’s given what was in the box. Can anyone tell us more about them?
Interesting. I know nothing of Burtons (Model Importers) Limited but it's the sort of packing that fascinates me and I'd probably have bought it out of curiosity.
Can anyone tell us more?

This was a business owned by Colin Cartwright who also operated the 7 1/4 inch steam railway in Walsall Arboretum where myself, Phil Traxson and Paul Martin were volunteers, travelling down from Derby at weekends.
When Colin retired he bought the Conway Valley Railway Museum and as far as I know he's still around.
I found this link to an article in the Express and Star newspaper

Burtons had a model shop in Walsall. Back in the 70's and 80's they were importers of a number of european manufacturers including Trix, Minitrix, LGB etc. They had a separate warehouse nearby for their importation business.

Were they the company who produced a live steam O gauge Jinty?
Dad knew Colin in the '60s, but I can't remember if it was via Dad's model shop or when Dad was a sales rep for Trix. There were a few people in the trade Dad tended to avoid having sold them large amounts of Trix at a time when quality was lacking, and I have a feeling Colin might have been one.
