Puffer Crew

These resin figures from George Turner paint up ever so well. I used suitably muted colours for them, then applied a weak black wash and then toned this down with some dry-brushing and a dose of talcum powder. Between each stage I left the paint alone long enough to dry properly. Rushing things means the new coat lifts the old one and the results looks terrible.

All paint was Humbrol enamel applied with a brush. I don’t think anyone air-brushes figures do they ? If they do then the masking must take forever.

At this size you can even paint the eyes properly. All my boat crew have pupils ! Now that is taking detail too far as you won’t see this from the other side of the lake, but at least I know they are there

Those are fantastic! The texture on the moustaches in particular.

And the eyes are the most important part of the face, however small.
