I've always loved the APT, and yes, I do have a Hornby model on order. This film shows the train running both inside and out. It might be an ameteur film, but the shots are really good - someone knew what they were doing.
I never saw the real thing run sadly, so this is the nearest I'm going to get to it. Sorry Avanti, and Pedolino isn't the same...

I saw it exactly once. One afternoon, not sure if summer holiday or after school, I was sitting at the end of the platform at Euston and it suddenly slithered out of one of the high numbered platforms. I remember at the time being surprised as I new they were being withdrawn and hadn't expected to ever see one. It looked small but very long.
I haven't got either of the Hornby versions but I have the pleasant memory :)
