An interesting film this week. It appears to be unedited footage from Pathe News taken at the then very new Finsbury Park diesel dept.
There's nice footage of D5598, so new that it wasn't even fitted with the characteristic "ears" for the windscreen washers.
Baby Deltics and an 08 (possibly 09?) shunter also pop up but most of the film seems to concern the work, and workers, preparing the loco including giving is a good polish.
D5598 is no more, having been scrapped in 1990 according to UK Rail.
Presumably, there is a proper version of this film, complete with posh-voiceover, but the raw footage is well worth a look.
