Slumbering P Class

Slumbering P Class

Poke your head inside the engine shed at Melbridge Parva and you might find a P Class locomotive awaiting its next duties. Perhaps it will feel fire in its belly today, or maybe it has been left to be discovered one day in the future by the preservation movement.

Phil, please give it a coupling hook. It might be only cosmetic as you use funny couplings but the buffer beam, and the entire front end in fact, looks naked without a hook.

Normally, I leave hooks off as they can interfere with the hook of the S&W coupling when propelling stock. In this case, the vac pipe would be even more trouble so I'm not sure what my excuse is here.
