Well, how about this ? Thursday morning, the Knightcote Model Boat club sailors were met with this sight - frozen water.
Very frozen in fact, thick enough to support the weight of an average size dog. This enough to resist the efforts of a pick axe.
After a lot of work, some members managed to break enough of the surface to get their models launched, including Ed who took this photo for me.
It makes gently rubbing some rails look pretty easy...
