Once the cardboard promenade has been hacked around enough to satisfy us, it is replaced with a plywood version. I’m not going to claim credit for this, as my Dad’s the woodworker. He tells me that forming the curve around the end was a nightmare because for some reason none of the normally reliable glues would work.
Once the join in the curved end is sanded and the whole lot covered in stone effect plasticard this is going to look nice. With the pain of construction forgotten we’ll be glad we went for the realistic rounded end to the quay and not an easier to build square version.
