Another new box of goodies on the workbench for me to play around with. This time it's the pre-production Hattons generic pre-grouping coaches. Sadly, there was some miscommunication and it's the decorated samples that will arrive in February, not the production models. Those are hitting the shops in Q2 2021.

Thanks Phil, I saw this earlier via BRM. You mentioned that kits will be available, but there's no sign of them on Hattons' website. Any more info? (I want to apply my chosen livery for a fictional railway. No, it won't look as good, but scruffy is good on a Colonel Stephens line!)
Kits? No, these are RTR. You can buy kits for 4 wheel coaches from Ratio and some of the specialists like London Road Models if you prefer.
Ah. It's just that about 3.5 minutes in you state "there are kits available for those who want absolute perfection". I'm no perfectionist; I just want my oddball livery.
The kits for perfection are London Road Models, or D&S if you can find them. TBH, if you just want a different livery, repaint a Hornby or Hattons model. It will be cheaper than the etched brass options for a start.
I'm already working on a couple of Hornby one rebadged for Port of London authority. Something different to have behind a Janus!
Thanks for the clarification. I thought the reference to kits was a Hattons' option. And yes, you're quite right, repainting a Hattons' RTR will be the economic option.
