At last, a good use for the Sun!

Just a little detail for the wooden WC - something to clean up with after your visit!

The newspaper front pages come from ScaleModelScenery, but in 4mm scale. I had them for a magazine project, and thought "why not enlarge them for this one?"

The result looks OK, and makes me chuckle. A Peco track pin keeps them in place. I had to drill a hole all the way through the wall, glue the pin in place, and then cut the excess away on the outside with some flush cutters.

Can you get newspapers with generic UK headlines? I'm thinking of the classics:
Phew! What a scorcher!
It's THAT MAN again.
England loses again

Sorry - the link to the product didn't work, but I've now updated it. I'm sure you could make your own mini-Suns, but I happened to have the pre-designed version.

The British Newspaper Archive (https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/) has scanned images of newspapers (mainly local rags) going back well over a hundred years. You need to register to be able to read them, but the fingernail images are perfect for ensuring your toilets are correctly dated for the period modeled. They'll also work for fish'n'chip shops and covering up windows whilst there's decorating going on inside
