First job in this conversion, is to take the nice, pretty, RTR locomotive to bits and throw lots of them away.
The back bunker pulls up and off the footplate. Then the cab can be wiggled off by running a scalpel along the joint and breaking the glue holding its tabs in.
The cab floor is next. Undo the screws each side of the firebox, pull this up and bit and then the floor and be pulled out. It takes more force than you'd think but there isn't any glue to defeat.
Next the saddle tank is released by undoing 4 screws under each side. Finally the chimney and steam done are gripped with pliers and pulled.
There's not much left now is there ?
