Looking online, this catalogue dates from 1966, a bit later than I expected. The firm closed many years ago.

Were these expensive?
So it was £2 and 2 shillings for a 2 inch ship' wheel. Looking at average wages for 1968 would suggest it was expensive in real terms. As high as 10% of your weekly wage for 1 item.
1968 - average male manual wage - £22 per week (£1,144 pa)
1968 - average male teacher salary - £1,646 pa
