Finishing touches

 

Why did Tamiya fit the Sand Scorcher with a sunroof? It's not even a proper VW one - those are a lot longer and fabric. This is a horrid aftermarket version. 

At least they give you a blanking plate, it's not the greatest fit, being a slightly different curve than the roof, but it fills a hole. 

And finally, the VW badge. Supplied chromed,I painted it black, and wiped the surface to look more like the real thing, a lot better than the current VW badge too!

So there we are. A pleasant build - I've really enjoyed it. Finished photo tomorrow.
