Very interesting. I spent my career as a cartographer. When I joined in 1978, all the maps were hand drawn or scribed onto plastic. We set them out using highly accurate mechanical plotters, one was called the coordinatograph. Text was produced photographically and stuck to the plastic map using hot wax.... Those were the days.
Isn't the MRJ still done this way?
