Sticking with the "ugly things with girls names" theme, how about this I spotted in Portsmouth harbour a few weeks ago?
Norma is a dredger built in 1981 by Motoren and Machinefabriek Van Boelen in The Netherlands. I know this because I found the spec sheet online.
In fact the Internet is a mine of information:
- Equipment details and photos.
- Her current position and activities.
- YouTube: Timelapse film of her working
Personally, I just thought, "What a fantastic looking boat". No fine lines but loads of interesting character, and yes I'd love to build a model of her.

There was me thinking you were about to edit magazines about model trains.
Joking aside, modelmaking is modelmaking - and this could yield a very satisfying model.
What's not to like?
