Saturday Film Club: Bob Symes and the GWR 0-4-2
Some old video fun with the ever-entertaining Robert Symes-Shutzmann talking about his early days in TV, and how he ended up using his model railway as a filler between TV programmes.
Hi Phil. What a wonderful little bit of film. I met Bob Symes nearly 20 years ago when conducting a tram at Crich at a Lledo special event. I can happily confirm that he was every bit as charming and friendly as you might expect him to be. He told me about the 7 1/4 inch gauge railway he was building in his garden at the time. A lovely man.
