A daily updated blog typed by someone with painty hands, oil under his fingernails and the smell of solder in his nostrils who likes making all sort of models and miniatures. And fixing things.

Saturday Film Club: Railway Researchers
Head back to 1967 with this somewhat patronising Pathe News film. There's a nice shot of the Maidsrone Model Engineering line running past a real railway though.
Good old-fashioned fun in a park with, no doubt, a stern park keeper as evidenced by its pristine condition and minimal security. As far as I know, the miniature railway is still there. Nice to see the green Crompton on a long train of vans, several of them destined for the Continent no doubt. I didn't realise the term "Ferroequinologist" went back so far!
Great video, thanks for posting Phil. I love the way the passengers are all wearing jackets and ties, today it'd be hoodies :-) I didn't know the term Ferroequinologist - I'll be using it from now on !
