Bing tabletop train set

A random photo from my collection. This one, taken at the Brighton Toy and Model Museum, shows a Bing Tabletop Train set. I'm pretty sure that isn't an authentic GWR loco, but hey ho.

You can read more about this model on the museum website.

Correct in your assumption!

3422 was a Bulldog class locomotive named "Sir John Llewelyn" built in March 1903 and withdrawn in February 1939. But the series 3201 to 3500 was reserved for express loco's of 2-4-0 and 4-4-0 wheel arrangements so not too far off!.

The story of Bing is fascinating- the first major model railway manufacturer, well pre Frank Hornby and the family were later involved in the foundation of Trix after WW1 sanctions marked the beginning of the end for Bing. There is a humanitarian element too, they had to flee Germany during Hitler's rise to power. Basset-Lowke took some of then on.
