Parcels van in Hornby Magazine

A return to plastic modelling in this months Hornby Magazine. This time my project is an LNER parcels van built from a Kirk kit. An interesting model and there are one or two challenges along the way, but the results are quite pleasing.

One odd thing - several pages are devoted to the new Heljan Class 15 diesel including some lovely prototype shots and history. All very nice (except for those who have a kit for this loco stashed away. Grrr) but this reduced space for the real news this month - Oxford Models diecast Volkswagen Type 2 camper van (Bay window version) which gets a paltry quarter page. What with Editor Mike being Vee Dub fan I'd have thought a special issue devoted to such a major development would have been in order ! I've bought two already and am just waiting for the order to arrive at my local model shop for another 4...
