Saturday Film Club: Toy bus restoration

Interesting and impressive restoration of a very rusty toy bus. I couldn't help wondering about the state of the original however - it's a rotbox but all the tags that hold it together can be bent over. Surely most of these small parts would have rusted and broken when being straightened and re-bent?

It makes me wish I had space for a media blasting cabinet though.

What an inspiring film. Everything can be restored if you are prepared to put the effort in and acquire the skills. Lovely !

What was a curious artefact has become just another toy bus.

I too thought something seemed a little off. Generally new rust is orange with older rust being dark brown to almost purple. The other odd this is that it seem to be a current production item...

There are other YouTube channels where people have "restored" items that they had "rusted"...

If you're looking to learn / practice restoration skills, something currently available new is probably a sensible choice of practice piece.

After all, it's not as if something irreplaceable might get ruined / sacrificed.
