Saturday Film Club: Amphibious cars
I love amphibious vehicles. Such a fascinating concept. So here we have a flotilla of different designs on parade.
Really good- I recall a dire film The Sandwich Board Man which finished with a sequence on the Thames in an Amphibious car, I also recall an Army Alvis Stalwart doing PR demos on the River Wear in Durham in the late 60s.

Great entertainment ! Who knew there were so many different types. Not a life jacket in sight.
I can see the appeal of amphibious cars - even if some of them might not be particularly brilliant as either cars or boats.
Here's an idle thought (probably not a very good one):
Have there been many radio controlled models of these vehicles - that have themselves worked effectively on both land and water?
My gut feeling is that this might not be particularly easy in model form - although I'd really like to be proved wrong.
