Saturday Film Club: 1980: The SCI-FI Models of MAT IRVINE
While I've always been a fan of Mat Irvine's model making, this feature is something special. For a atart, the style is very much of its time. I'm not sure who Eric Thompson is/was, but he needs to be back on TV along with Richard Stilgo.
Them we have models made for serious science TV programmes, not something we see much of nowadays.More please!
Husband of actress Phyllida Law and father of actress Emma Thompson and much, much more importantly for people of our* generation, the man whose voice provided the narration on the UK version of 'The Magic Roundabout'.
*I appreciate you're about a decade younger than me but even so, you surely watched Magic Roundabout.

For those of us of a certain age, we remember the voice of Eric Thompson from “The Magic Roundabout”. Eric was Emma’s dad!

Blimey! I hadn't connected the Eric Thomspon in the film, with the Magic Roundabout Eric Thompson. Every day is a school day!
