James commented last week that the Wills kit doesn't include any guttering. He's right and on the prototype, it's pretty obvious.
Less obvious is what I can do to rectify the omission. This is supposed to be a quick project after all.
The more I looked at the roof edge, the most obvious it is that something isn't quite right. I suspect that the slates don't stick far enough over the edge. Fixing that means scratchbuilding a new roof and probably a load more work.
So, bodging a bit, I left off the soffit board along the front and added some guttering made by rounding the front corner of some 2mm square plastic rod. It's not perfect, I haven't bothered hollowing out the top, but it's not that far off from the real thing.
It still doesn't stick out enough so the downpipes (leftovers from a Ratio pack) are fixed to the corner and don't angle out from the wall. It's another bodge but since I'm not modelling a specific prototype I can live with that.

I have to say I think that's improved it a lot. I've been caught out the other way before now and presumed a goods shed would have had guttering when the prototype didn't.
I also think the Ratio guttering is a great product to have in the bits box. I much prefer it to the Wills stuff
