Vac pipes
Today's lesson is to pay attention to prototype photographs before working on a model.
I normally paint vacuum pipes on the ends of model locomotive with a pale grey or cream colour. After a wash of track colour the results look pretty convincing to my eye. This I did on the class 14.
Then I looked at some photos to ascertain the colours of the cables also on the buffer beam. At this point I discover that the Vac pipes are black. Doh.
