H&M Walkabout controller demo

Thanks to the efforts of Dave from boat club, the controller I first mentioned a few weeks ago, is now working properly.

Obviously you can't see this in a still photo, so I've put together a little demo video to run the device through its paces.

Phil,

Were you aware that Finney & Smith are in the process of closing down ?

No I didn't but I've now e-mailed Dave who confirms this is true. He'll still be producing the 3D printed models through.

We in our club had these back in 1985 and they were a bone of contention never really worked faultlessly and as you said dry joints were readily found inside.

Our club now uses Gaugemaster panel mounted DC controllers with inertia option built in for our main lines and ordinary panel mounted controllers for Goods Yards and Motive Power areas. No problem with them at all and a lifetime warranty into the bargain.

Gaugemaster controllers are the way to go. I've had both of my handhelds repaired for free in the past. Excellent service.
