TINGS this weekend

This weekend is all about N gauge. I'm going to be appearing on the BRM stand at The International N Gauge Show (TINGS).

The plan is that I'm going to build a very simple layout over the two days. You can read more about this on the RMweb thread. This should be interesting, and has already required more than 2 days worth of planning!

That's a very ambitious project and I hope you fail, (in the best possible way, as it means you've been heavily engaged with the crowd).

That would be a very honourable way to fail. As would spending to much time eating cake. :-)

Do you really want to finish all the sections of your layout - and all the scenery?

This question isn't quite as stupid as it might sound. After all, leaving different parts of the layout at different stages might make it easier for you to explain the steps involved. Seeing what the different steps look like might also make it easier for show visitors to understand.

Whatever happens, I'm sure a lot of show visitors will learn a lot from the exercise.

If your build is filmed - and a suitably edited version finds its way onto a BRM cover DVD - those of us who can't get to the show might also get the chance to learn.
